Training for Trainers of the Financial Education Training «Plan the Future»

On May 4 – 7, 2010 the Russian Microfinance Center in cooperation with the IREX Representation Office Department / Nalchik delivered trainings for trainers on financial education «Plan the Future». 9 people – trainers from non-commercial organizations from Dagestan, Adygeya, Chechnya, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Stavropol Territory participated in the trainings.

The training on raising financial literacy is very topical for the young population in current economic conditions since young leaders should master skills of financial planning and efficient income management. The program of this training «Plan the Future» was developed by the employees of the Russian Microfinance Center and the Microfinance Centre for Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States (MFC) with the support from the Citi Foundation to widen the access to financial services of young people and low-income families.

The trainings are aimed for participants to form pro-active position, positive attitude to long-term financial planning and system savings, widening the possibilities of savings and borrowing, and also for more effective management of small capitals. The trainings for trainers resulted in the region trainers acquiring new skills of delivering trainings “Plan the Future”, they also reviewed in details the issues of logistics and organizations of trainings in financial education among the aim groups. After the trainings for trainers the trainers will start to deliver trainings on financial education for young population, low-income families and young entrepreneurs in Dagestan, Adygeya, Chechnya, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Stavropol Territory.
