Distant Banking Conferences
On 28 September 2007 RMC President Mikhail Mamuta spoke at the Conference «Ways of increasing retail financial services availability» in Moscow with a presentation «Some peculiarities of distant banking regulation». On 30 September 2007 Mikhail Mamuta facilitated the session «Perspectives of distant banking development in Russia» at the forum «Financial retail: automatization strategies», organized by a company «Fort-Ross» in Sochi, Russia.
More than 100 people participated in each of these events: the representatives of banks, mobile operators, integrators of technical solutions for the financial sector, and IT companies. Distant banking and its potential aroused much interest among the conference participants which resulted in first offers of cooperation in this sphere with several banks and mobile operators.

Distant Banking Development Work Group Meeting
On 25 September 2007 the RF State Duma held a distant banking development work group meeting of the Committee on Credit Organizations and Financial Markets. In the meeting participated: the work group head, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee Anatoliy Aksakov, the work group coordinator, NAMMS President Mikhail Mamuta, Central Bank representatives, State Duma deputies, Russia post-office administration, banking community, and other market participants.
During the meeting the plan of work group performance on improvement of the regulation in the sphere of distant banking services for people and business on 2007 – 2008 was discussed (including such components as mobile and Internet-banking, electronic funds, as well as the outsourcing of banking activity).
The meeting resulted in a decision of the plan follow-up revision by the work group participants before 5 November 2007. After that the planned events will be implemented.

NAMMS Advisory Board Meeting
The National Partnership of Microfinance Market Stakeholders (NAMMS) Advisory Board meeting was held on 3 October 2007 in Moscow under the chairmanship of the General Director of the Russian Agency for Small and Medium Business Support Viktor Yermakov. NAMMS President Mikhail Mamuta presented the results of the Partnership performance in 2006 and its plans and priorities on 2007–2008 which was discussed and approved by the participants. The representatives of the Partnership participants – Association of Russian Banks (Andrey Yemelin), League of Credit Unions (Vadim Kalinichev), League of SME Development Funds (Vikor Lisin) favoured the NAMMS performance and made several offers. It was decided to form the NAMMS vice-presidency institution on branch principle to increase flexibility in response to the work matters and better account of NAMMS members’ interests in every day Partnership performance. The State Duma Deputy, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Leonid Govorov and JSC RosBR Vice President Svetlana Sagaidak became the members of the NAMMS Advisory Board.
SEEP Network Annual Conference. New Possibilities for Microfinance Associations Development
On 22-26 October 2007 another SEEP Network Annual Conference and summit were held in Washington. RMC President Mikhail Mamuta and RMC Executive Director Boris Tkachenko participated in the Conference. Mikhail Mamuta presented the topic «Microfinance Associations and Affiliate Investment Companies Interaction Experience» on the example of RMC and Centurion Capital. In his presentation he briefly described the history of creation JSC «Centurion Capital», Association of Russian Banks' participation in the process of the company’s establishment and formation, strategy of attracting investments and providing financial services to MFIs, as well as the forecast of Centurion’s future development. During the business breakfast organized by Microfinance Management Institute (MFMI), Boris Tkachenko informed the audience about RMC training performance, namely about RMC trainings, cooperation with institutions of higher education, and about the distant education programs. More than 150 participants from 49 countries gathered at the conference.

Training “Personnel Management in MFIs”
On 25-27 September 2007 the corporate training «Personnel Management in MFIs» was delivered by Russian Microfinance Center in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). The representatives of microcredit companies participated in this training.
The training participants discussed various aspects and distinctive features of personnel management in MFIs, became acquainted with some variants of MFIs personnel motivation systems and exercised in calculation of premiums/bonuses for the MFIs employees according to various personnel motivation systems. The participants also had a possibility to classify their knowledge and improve the skills of the main personnel management functions, such as personnel selection, hire, assessment, development, and motivation. They also started to develop personnel policy of their MFIs.
The participants pointed out that due to this training they are able now to competently assess and motivate their employees. They invited the trainers to come to their places again in some time to check how they apply the received knowledge in business.

Training “Plan Your Future”
JSC "Credit Unions Service Center "CUSC", Saint-Petersburg, Russia
A trainer Maria Ryumina delivered a pilot training in Saint-Petersburg in September 2007. Volunteers from 4 Saint-Petersburg Credit unions who at the same time work at the Saint-Petersburg factories participated in the training along with one pensioner. All participants were women from 35 to 58 years old. All participants highly appreciated the received knowledge and the training itself.
One of the women mentioned that the training made her thoroughly think about her life and expenses. The other woman remarked that it is easier to achieve the clear manageable goals. All agreed that it is necessary to plan the financial future of a family.
