NAMMS Monitoring About the Crisis Influence on the MFIs Performance in Russia
The NAMMS Monitoring about the crisis influence on the microfinance market in Russia in the third quarter of 2009 was published at the Russian Microfinance Center (RMC) website, which was prepared by the National Partnership of Microfinance Market Stakeholders (NAMMS) in cooperation with RMC.
Differently directed tendencies were observed at the market during the third quarter – lowering of some indexes against the background of other indexes' growth. However, on the whole, the situation may be characterized as considerably stable. Moreover, high growth of attracted savings of the population allows microfinance organizations to refuse from expensive outer refinance. Growth of microloans volume is possible already in the first half year of 2010 as long as economy and consumer demand will be further redeveloped.

Session on RMC Perfomance Strategic Planning for 2010 and Training on Projects Management
On 24 - 25 December 2009 in Nalchik on the base of the Russian Microfinance Center (RMC) representative office on the North Caucasus the RMC staff delivered a session on the Russian Microfinance Center perfomance strategic planning for 2010. During the session the main tendencies of the microfinance sector development were discussed. The area managers presented the results of their performance for 2009 and gave their offers about the main areas of performance in 2010.
Besides, on 24 December Russian Microfinance Center staff participated in the training on project management. The training was delivered in the form of role play where the participants studied and applied the main principles and instruments of project management.

Training for Trainers on the Project of Raising Financial Literacy of the Young Population and the Low-Income Families “Plan Your Future”
On 1 - 10 December 2009 the Russian Microfinance Center with financial support from Clifford Chance Foundation delivered trainings for trainers on raising financial literacy of the young population and the low-income families “Plan Your Future” in Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkaria. The IREX Representation Office Department / Nalchik was the co-organizer. 16 people participated in the training – the trainers from Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Chechen Republic.
The training “Plan Your Future” is aimed at the change of the young population's and low-income families' attitude towards long-term financial planning and systematic savings, widening the possibilities of savings and borrowing, as well as more effective management of small capital. The trainings for trainers resulted in the participants acquiring new skills of delivering trainings “Plan Your Future”, they also reviewed in details the issues of logistics and organizations of trainings in financial education among the aim groups. After the trainings for trainers the trainers will start to deliver trainings on financial education for young population, low-income families and young entrepreneurs in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Chechen Republic. In such a way, the training on financial literacy will be included in the program of region's young leaders' development.
In their feedback the participants said that they were impressed by trainers' performance, useful knowledge, and their necessity in everyday life.
Training for Agricultural Credit Consumer Cooperatives (ACCC) on the Topic «Legal Basis of Microfinance Performance in the Agricultural Credit Consumer Cooperatives»
On 9 - 11 December 2009 in Krasnoyarsk within the framework of the project «Building Complex Microfinance System in Regions including Credit Cooperation Development» implementation the Russian Microfinance Center delivered training for agricultural credit consumer cooperatives (ACCC) on the topic «Legal Basis of Microfinance Performance in the Agricultural Credit Consumer Cooperatives».
Anna Baitenova - RMC Senior Legal Adviser delivered the training. Both experienced and starting cooperatives and initiative groups on their creation participated in the training. Some of the participating cooperatives practice only savings and loan performance, other combine it with such activities as agrarian issues, housing construction, etc.
The seminar became the regular stage of consecutive studies of Krasnoyarsk Kray agricultural cooperatives credit cooperation basis, new meetings and discussions are planned in future. The participants enjoyed the training a lot, especially, that the studies were organized on top level, the topic was described well, vividly, and clearly.
